X Factor Opens With A Bang

X Factor Opens With A BangThe addiction that is the X Factor is back with a bang after its first 90 minute program last night. The show has grown to be one of the best known and most watched programs ever to hit British television.

ITV has released the viewing figures for last night’s first set of auditions, 11.4 million people tuned in last night which is up nearly 2 million compared to last year. The panel is going to see some significant changes this year with Dani Monogue unable to attend due to her pregnancy.

Former spice girl Geri Halliwell joined Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh on the panel and it is thought a number of different famous faces will be joining the panel throughout the audition phase.

The show opened with a classic X factor audition by Glaswegian Stephen Hunter who stunned the crowd with his camp dance moves and shocking voice. A trio named Jahm, who formed online, really did believe they were the new N-Dubz and silenced the audience with one of the worst, but funniest performances in X factor History. Simon crumpled with laughter and Sheryl who is usually the most sympathetic judge could not think of any kind words for the three.

The highlight of the night had to go to a 18 year old student called Gamu Nhengu whose reworked version of ‘Walking On Sunshine’ managed to win over the judges. The audition phase of the X factor provides the most amount of entertainment and the second instalment is back at the same time next week.
