Miami Airport Is Evacuated
Miami airport has been evacuated after reports suggest a suspicious item has been found in luggage within the customs area of the airport.
A spokesperson for Miami international airport said that four of the six concourses had been evacuated and a police bomb squad had arrived and were clearing the area of any potential threats and other devices.
In total it is thought around 100-200 people have been evacuated from the airport and there will be no word on when it will reopen until the police are happy there is no threat to passenger safety.
Flights destined for the airport have been diverted to alternative airports and is thought the disruption could carry on for some time.
The traffic around the airport is in chaos as roads are blocked and people waiting to get picked up have started to walk from the airport to nearest the point so they can find transportation.
After 9-11 situations like this are taking extremely seriously and the police and investigating authorises will take their time to clear the airport and make sure there is no more hidden threats.
